I have done the midterm paper on Chapter 7 in the book we used for class. I have learned a lot of different methods used to teach. They were different methods used by people to teach and helped them learned in different ways. Some were best, but some were not as good as other. The best method I would use was using powerpoint or video to teach because some people were physical learning, but some would prefer audio learning so they would stick to plain lecture. People have different ways to learn so thats why there were different methods used to teach.

I have learned how to draft a plan for training workshop. Our group is on facebook. I know all about facebook. So it is easier for me to make a plan to teach people at Lowman home. I have created step by step then some details in each step. Once I done my part, I had to wait on my group to finish his part. Once everybody did their part, we will come together and revise our plan. I thought it is fun how to create a plan to train them about facebook because most of my friends use facebook and I also use facebook often. It will be fun for the people at Lowman because they can get in touch with their friends and families especially their children and grandchildren if they are old enough to use computer.

I read an article about Top 5 training mistakes. They are pretty good tips to teach us in the future about teaching others in a well-explained way. Mistake number 2 which about tune out the audience is most important mistake according to my opinion because I have been there before in Computer Science 204. The teacher assumes that we have already learn about visual basic which we really do not. He just keep teaching and move on to new lesson or chapter without us understanding them. I have ask him for help on program I was working on. He just keep pointing on screen and move that stuff from one place to other and type in string for that icon without explaining it to me. It is frustating to me so that is why I have dropped that class twice. I have learn from his teaching or training style so for the future, I will not teach like that teacher teaches and will explain better and will ask the class if they got question more often. So that way the class will understand better without getting frustrated.

I have learned how to work with group and how to communicate with each other about workshop. I have learned how to use discussion board to look each other's ideas and pick best three ideas to send to Dr. Keane. We have come up with pretty good ideas. I have not went to observe workshop to help me learn what to do about workshop. So I think I will go to Lowman's Home next week to observe the workshop. We are still discussing about what time and where is the best about workshop.

I am looking forward to help teach old people how to use computer, using internet, or whatever they want to learn about technology. I have to come up with good style like play games, teach them how to use internet, etc. So that way they won't be bored and go sleep while listening to lecture. I want them feel comfortable about using computer and keep practicing use the computer more often. I know that some of them might be fear that they will break the computer. That is my way of teaching style.

I have read these two articles from module 3.1. I did not really know that older people use internet so it is new to me. So what i have learned is that more people continously using internet to improve their internet skills and some have took some classes. I know there are a lot of our age using internet everyday, and mid-aged people do too. I think they should using internet everyday to improve their skills like they learned abc, add, and subtract. These articles are good to read and gain knowledge about people using interent everyday by training to use just basic skills like word processing, etc.

Workplace Learning

What I have learned from searching through ten web sites that i tagged into delicious.com are that there are pretty good sites for job that need to learn new softwares and learn how to interacte with workers to make job easier. I have learn a lot from reading these websites for examples: how to divide workers with computer skill that requires learning new softwares that put in, how to learn on your own on new software that you are not familiar with. There are other things I have learned which are how to interact with others and how to work better in suitable environment. I think that is all I have learned so far with these web sites.
